What to expect

Enjoy a full-day trip to Mount Etna with an expert tour leader and explore the various valleys with the possibility to visit the slopes of the craters.

The first stop will be at the Alcantara Gorge, where you'll walk along the riverbed and enjoy the surrounding natural beauty. Your exploration of the area at the foot of the volcano continues towards the town of Adrano in the south.

You'll then reach the Etna station at an altitude of 1.900 metres. Here, with your free time you can enjoy lunch at a local restaurant (not included), and take part in optional activities like the ascent up to 2.900 metres (extra to be paid on board) or remain at that altitude and discover the recent lava flows and extinct volcanoes.

The bus terminal is located outside the North gate of Taormina.
What to remember

Know in advance:

  • From the 5th of May to the 15th of May 2026, the cable car on Rifugio Sapienza, located on the south side of Mount Etna, will be under maintenance, so the stop and ascent will be done on the North side Piano Provenzana only by jeep, no cable car for this period
  • The main pick-up point is the Bus Terminal in Via Pirandello in Taormina. Personalised pick-up along the route can be requested. You'll find further information on your voucher after booking
  • Infants (age 0-1): free of charge

  • Please bring warm clothing and suitable shoes
