Your journey begins through areas once dominated by shipbuilding activities and large steel factories. These neighbourhoods are now evolving into lively parts of the city's surroundings, adorned with green spaces, walking paths, and modern buildings. The route follows a comfortable riverside path devoid of hills and busy traffic, making it suitable for all levels.
A notable part of the tour is crossing the renowned Bizkaia Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s oldest working transporter bridge. You'll traverse the river on a moving platform, offering splendid views of the water and the two villages Portugalete and Getxo.
