El Valle de los Templos es uno de los lugares más evocadores del mundo griego y uno de los complejos más importantes fuera de Grecia. Visitará los templos que se alzan sobre la elevada cresta que domina el mar, recorrerá la Vía Sagrada y descubrirá la magnificencia del Templo de la Concordia, convertido en iglesia cristiana en el siglo VI y que, gracias a ello, se salvó de gran parte de la devastación que asoló el lugar a lo largo de los siglos. Caminará entre las ruinas del Templo de Zeus, el mayor templo construido por los griegos, que fue destruido para construir el puerto cercano a Porto Empedocle.

El acantilado de Scala dei Turchi se eleva entre dos playas de arena fina, y para acceder a él hay que avanzar por la costa y subir por un ascenso similar a una gran escalera natural de piedra caliza. La Scala dei Turchi tiene una forma ondulada e irregular, con líneas no ásperas sino dulces y redondeadas. Su nombre procede de las pasadas incursiones de piratas sarracenos, llamados convencionalmente por los lugareños "Turchi" (turcos). Estos piratas, de hecho, encontraban en este lugar un desembarco más seguro para sus naves, salvándolas del azote de los martilleantes vientos africanos, en comparación con el resto de la costa meridional.
