The inside story
The National Museum Prague, or Národní muzeum in Czech, is the largest museum in the Czech Republic. The museum, established in 1818, exhibits an extensive collection of over 14 million items associated with the country’s history, culture, and natural sciences in several buildings.
The National Museum Prague’s main building is located in central Prague next to Wenceslas Square. It was constructed in a splendid neo-renaissance style by Czech architect Josef Schulz between 1885 and 1891 and was declared a national cultural monument in 1962.
