Tunesische Sahara tour van twee dagen langs Hollywood film hotspots

Stel je een plek voor waar het zand van de woestijn is bestrooid met de magie van Hollywood. Deze tweedaagse tour neemt je mee naar enkele van beroemdste filmdecors van Tunesië. Je bezoekt een Romeins amfitheater, verkent ondergrondse grotwoningen, steekt een groot zoutmeer over en ontdekt een afgelegen oase aan de rand van de Sahara. Hamdi, een van onze deskundige lokale gidsen, zegt: "Tussen Matmata en Douz vind je eindeloze "ergs" - zandduinen - in de eindeloze woestijn. Deze woestijn is geen dood gebied, maar wordt hier en daar zelfs bebouwd door de bewoners. Naargelang het seizoen komt de dorre grond tot leven.”Je start je zandavontuur bij El Jem Colosseum. Dit oude Romeinse theater bood plaats aan 35.000 toeschouwers die werden vermaakt met gladiatorengevechten en wagenrennen. Hierna rij je naar Matmata, waar je luncht en de in de rotsen uitgehouwen grotwoningen bezoekt die je misschien kent van twee Star Wars-films. Deze eerste dag sluit je af met een overnachting in de met dadelpalmen omgeven oase Douz. Een geweldige plek om een optionele kameel- of koetsrit in de woestijn te maken.Na het ontbijt doorkruis je Chott el Djerid, een met fata morgana's gevuld zoutmeer. Waarna je in een 4x4 stapt voor een rit naar Onk Jemal om de filmsetstad te bekijken die voor Star Wars werd gebouwd. Na de lunch in Gafsa rond je de tour af met een fotostop in Kairouan, een geweldige plek om de ene na de andere Insta-perfecte foto te maken van de islamitische architectuur waar de stad bekend om staat.
