The inside story
Step back in time exploring the ruins of Devin Castle, one of the largest castles in Slovakia! The castle is just 20 minutes away from Bratislava's city center and is a must-do on any trip to the city.
Set high on top of a cliff, 212 meters above ground, it towers over the small village of Devin, a borough in Bratislava. You’ll be mesmerised by perfect 360° panoramas of the Danube and Morava rivers which form the border with Austria.
Have fun walking around the lower, middle and upper parts of the castle and see what ruins you can find! The grounds offer preserved remains of structures from the Roman and Great Moravian periods, as well as from the Middle Ages and modern age.
At the upper part of the castle, where the views are insane, you’ll be able to find the permanent exhibition ‘Devín Castle in the 13th-20th century’’. Learn about the history of the castle and see old artifacts! Other exhibitions also take place at different times throughout the year.
Don’t miss out on exploring the public path along the river bank, where you can see the exact point where the Danube and the Morava meet!
