Enjoy this full-day excursion in Biscay departing from Bilbao, and discover iconic landmarks, coastal scenery, and local wine culture in a single day.
The tour begins at the Vizcaya Suspension Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an impressive feat of iron architecture that still connects Portugalete and Getxo today. A guided visit of approximately one hour covers the history and engineering behind this extraordinary structure.
Next, you'll head to a traditional winery for a tasting of 2 or 3 glasses of Txakoli. This fresh, slightly fruity wine is the most characteristic of the Basque coast, and the experience includes an explanation of its origins, grape varieties, and production methods.
You'll then stop at the Gaztelugatxe viewpoint and see the iconic Dragonstone islet, its hermitage and dramatic staircase, famous as a filming location for Game of Thrones. Please note that the visit is limited to the viewpoint.
After a 60-minute stop in Mundaka for lunch (not included), you'll end with a guided walk through Bermeo, where the identity of a seafaring and whaling community has been kept alive over the centuries.
