The inside story
Located in southeastern France, between Var and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, visitors are treated to a slice of heaven – the Lake of Sainte-Croix. This man-made lake is fed by the Verdon River and its clay bottom makes the water shine a bright turquoise that’s out of this world. There are lots of ways to enjoy the lake – from sunbathing and swimming to windsurfing, sailing or fishing. Visitors can also enjoy peaceful scenic walks and visit the historic villages of Bauden, Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon and many others around the lake. After you’ve explored the Lake of Sainte-Croix, head to the Gorges du Verdon, the deepest gorge in France.
